NEW DELHI- Bureau of Indian Standards team raided M/s Elcotek India Pvt. Ltd., Delhi for sellingPortable Lithium Batteries with spurious CRS mark, without CRS mark & with cancelled licenses.
Search and Seizure operation was conducted by team of officials of Bureau of Indian Standards, Delhi Branch Office-II on 11.09.2024. M/s Elcotek India Pvt. Ltd., Delhiwas sellingPortable Lithium Batteries with spurious CRS mark, without CRS mark & with cancelled licenses, which is a violation of Section 17 of BIS Act 2016. The offence is punishable with imprisonment up to two years or with fine not less than two lakh rupees which may extend up to ten times the value of the goods affixedor applied with a Standard Mark without a valid licence. A total of 547 pcs of Portable Lithium Batteries have been seized from the shop. BIS will continue to organize such raids in future to prevent such violations.
