MDNIY hosts 3-day workshop on ‘Biostatistical Tools and Research Methodology in Yoga’

New Delhi- Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), has commenced a 3-day workshop on ‘Biostatistical Tools and Research Methodology in Yoga’ for its faculty and students from 22nd -24th January, 2025. The workshop is designed to equip the faculty, staff and researchers at MDNIY with advanced research methodologies and biostatistical tools promoting research in Yoga.The inaugural ceremony was graced by Md. Taiyab Alam, Communication & Documentation Officer (C&DO) and Deputy Director (I/C) and Dr. I.N. Acharya, Program Officer. The C&DO emphasised the importance of quality research in Yoga, stating, “Research is crucial in every field, especially Yoga, given its growing popularity. Quality research and proper use of research tools can strengthen data integrity, add credibility, and make Yoga more appealing worldwide.” Dr. I.N. Acharya presented a theme-based presentation, highlighting the contributions of Swami Kuvalayananda and other renowned Yoga experts. He stressed the significance of subjective results of Yoga practices over objective results.Dr. Shrikanth Murulidharan, Course Coordinator for Research & Training at the National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune and Dr. Khushbu Jain are overall coordinating and managing the workshop.The 3-day workshop features sessions on – Research Methodology, Project & Grant Writing, Research Data Management, Sampling Methods, Statistical Tools and Research Software. About 100 faculty, staff and students were present during the function.
