NEW DELHI- Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), inaugurated the DFCCIL stall at LOGISTICS-2025 during the International Engineering & Technology Fair (IETF-2025), organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The inauguration has been attended by senior officials, industry stakeholders and logistics experts. Shri SP Verma, GGM/BD&BA, and Shri Roshan Singh, AGM/OP&BD, also visited the exhibition. Welcoming visitors and stakeholders, Shri Praveen Kumar highlighted the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) project as the largest rail infrastructure initiative in independent India’s history. He emphasized how the DFC Network is driving a paradigm shift in the country’s freight and logistics sector through cutting-edge design, advanced infrastructure, and transformative innovations.Addressing the gathering, Shri Praveen Kumar outlined the pivotal role of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) in reducing India’s logistics costs from the current 13-14% of GDP to a single-digit figure, a move that will significantly improve India’s global ranking in logistics efficiency.Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Praveen Kumar stated, “The DFC Network is proving to be a game-changer for India’s freight and logistics sector. With DFC, freight trains are now longer, higher, heavier, and faster. Today, more than 400 trains transport over 517 million Gross Tonne Kilometres (GTKMs) of freight daily, seamlessly connecting the country’s hinterlands and industrial hubs with consumer markets and ports along the Western Coast. We are proudly scripting a new chapter in India’s socio-economic progress.”DFCCIL’s exhibit at IETF-2025 features a range of ground-breaking innovations aimed at strengthening India’s logistics landscape. These include Trucks-on-Train, High-Speed Cargo and the development of Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals (GCTs) along the DFC Network. The development of Goods Sheds, Private Freight Terminals, and Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLP) will further enhance connectivity, lower logistics costs, and boost India’s export-import (EXIM) landscape. The Dedicated Freight Corridor is poised to transform India’s logistics ecosystem, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable freight transport. The initiative aligns with India’s vision for economic growth, industrial expansion, and global trade competitiveness. DFCCIL remains committed to pioneering innovations in freight transport and strengthening India’s position as a global logistics powerhouse.
