NEW DELHI- Central Regional Office, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently held its annual Management Systems Certification (MSC) Licensee Meet at its training institute NITS, Noida. BIS operates 21 Management Systems Certification Schemes, such as Quality Management System Certification (QMS) as per IS/ISO 9001, Environment Management System Certification (EMS) as per IS/ISO 14001, Occupational Health & Safety Management System Certification (OHSMS) as per IS/ISO 45001 etc.
The event aimed to create a platform for the licensees to share their experiences, clear doubts, contribute suggestions, and get updates on MSC related policy matters. During the program, BIS honored its long-term partnership by presenting an appreciation award to 10 licensees that have successfully implemented Management System Certification for over 25 years.
The Central Regional Office has a diverse range of organizations as its licensees, including public sector undertakings (PSUs), central and state government agencies, large, medium, and small private sector enterprises, educational and training institutions, research organizations, post offices and banks.
The program commenced with an insightful welcome address by Smt. Lalthan Pari, Director & MSCO (CRO), who set the tone for the day by highlighting the importance of collaboration for continuous improvement in standard and certification activities. She urged all the participants to make the most out of the program and make it an opportunity to learn from each other and grow together.
Dr. R.K. Tyagi, DDG (Central), BIS, presented an appreciation award to10 licensees for successful implementation of Management System Certification for over 25 years, namely, i) Mangalam Cement Ltd., Kota ii) National Building Corporation Ltd, New Delhi, iii) Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. Narora Atomic Power Station, Bulandshahr (UP), iv) Prism Johnson Limited (H & R Johnson (India) Division) MP, v) Surya Roshini Ltd. Malanpur, Bhind (MP), vi) Rajasthan Textile Mills (Raj), vii) Nahar Spinning Mills Ltd. (MP), viii) ACC Ltd., Kymore Cement Works (M.P.), ix) Everest Industries Ltd. , Kymore, (M.P.) and x) Ordnance Equipment Factory, Hazaratpur, UP.
During his address, Dr. R. K. Tyagi emphasized the significance of the willingness and commitment of an organization to maximize the benefits derived from the implementation of MSC. He elaborated on the long-term benefits and advantages of implementing ISO management system certification.
The program included informative sessions on the vital updates on activities and policies related to Management Systems Certification (MSC) operated by BIS and MSC Portal. An interactive session on effective implementation of management systems was conducted, followed by doubt clearing sessions. Licensees also shared valuable suggestions to BIS for improvement.
Licensees appreciated the revised reduced license fee and highlighted how this certification has given them a competitive edge and facilitated growth. They also expressed their appreciation for the evolution of the BIS MSC activities over a decade, commending the excellent and prompt services it provides.
